[00:01:14] Welcome to the Outlaws. This is Darvio the King Ben Mauro alongside Robin O'Malley and Dante Bright. Don't forget to like us on Facebook at facebook.com slash the Outlaws Radio. Follow us on X and Instagram at the Outlaws Radio. Dante, how you doing sir?
[00:01:38] Oh, it's been a week man. Um, I'm fine. The bright side is that the weather looks great, or it was great today. It's our first really nice day of the year, but man, it's just been a week. I am exhausted. And yeah, I'm ready. I'm ready for the weekend man. It seemed like it's uh, it's just been one of those type of crazy weeks
[00:02:02] where it's like one thing after another thing after another thing, but it is the weekend and we back like it's it's good to be back all three of us together on the show. We haven't it's you know, it's been I want to say maybe a month or so or even with all of us. Yeah, yeah, it's probably been even longer. So it's good to be back. That's the bright side and then you know the weather. Hopefully we go past the snow and all that.
[00:02:27] Yeah, absolutely man. Yeah, it was it's a good we're taping this on a Friday. It's been a good good weather day. Great weather day today um real quick you and I have been having some conversations uh via text message about uh sports media Yeah, yeah seem like they've been crashing out lately. I gotta get your thoughts real quick keep it brief because we got stuff to do
[00:02:55] on um the LeBron and Stephen A thing. Where are you on that? Yeah, it's weird like I I don't know It's so weird because I just think like I think I think what the shift that ESPN has undergone the last like 10 to 15 years has been really really weird where like ESPN used to be about don't do anything to hurt the product, right? Like don't do anything to make yourself bigger than the story but now
[00:03:26] like the last two or three years it's been like hey, Stephen A is a star and we're gonna put Stephen A as like a star. He just got paid a hundred million dollar contract. Yeah, and so it's just it's just weird because I mean ESPN is you know they'll show clips of like Stephen A Smith walking into a into an arena like like he wanted a player Yeah, like he's gonna play or something. So it's just weird to see the shift that ESPN has undergone, but
[00:03:53] yeah, I mean I I guess I understand it from LeBron's perspective I think both guys actually are kind of perfect for each other because to me Stephen A Smith is one of the most um dramatic and loud and again, dramatic people in his business probably the most and LeBron is as well. So it's like they they were kind of a match made in heaven with this like they both obviously are loving the attention from this and
[00:04:23] no matter what they say like they kind of deserve each other Right Okay, so I got to get your opinion on this again make it brief Do you agree with Charles Barkley's criticism of the the basketball media in particular for not covering specifically the Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder as much as they should Yes, and no so like
[00:04:51] Yes, those have been the two best teams in the league. They should get covered more. We know that on the other side it's hard to really do that because in the NBA specifically and one of the things I actually love about the NBA is like you don't get anything until you win you are always doubted you are always questioned until you actually win and so nobody actually believes in the Cavs and Thunder because they haven't seen them do it
[00:05:19] and even like last year with the Celtics it was similar right now they got covered more because it was a Boston team but even still like the way people talked about it was like well, you know, they kind of have a propensity to choke blah blah until they finally won and now you just get the benefit of the doubt right even when you're not that good or as good as you were right like people give Denver the benefit of the doubt and this Denver team is fine, but it's not a championship level team like it was two years ago
[00:05:46] but they still get the benefit of the doubt over a team like the Cavs who are clearly better but that's just because we've seen them win a title so I think that's part of it and I also think the other part of it is the NBA has been so beholden to their elite elite stars and I mean Durant, LeBron, Curry, that generation and they don't really know how to pivot um and I think that's really what their their biggest issue is like they
[00:06:17] they're so beholden to those guys because those guys have made them so much money and they really don't know how to pivot so I just you know, I I wish they would talk about the Cavs more but I I understand it and so what the Cavs have to do is we just got to win so I'll I'll say this real quick and then we're gonna go to robin um you're way more gracious on that than I am because I absolutely there is no doubt in my mind and there's
[00:06:44] Mountains and mountains and mountains of evidence to prove it that that the sports media in particular particularly when it comes to the NBA NBA has a huge east coast bias and a huge west coast bias there is no doubt in my mind about that I don't believe I think there's some of what you're saying but I don't believe it's all of that I believe some of that is just their own natural bias of only covering and caring about the stuff that's in their backyards which we see
[00:07:14] all the time all the time like I think sports media my personal opinion I think sports media particularly on the national level when it comes to the NBA is more biased than political media I think they're worse so for me I think yeah some of it is that they haven't won but I also think a lot of it too is just their natural bias of not giving a damn about teams that aren't in
[00:07:40] New York or Los Angeles or California in general or Boston I think there's a lot of that real quick do you think they give the Knicks the benefit of the doubt because I don't they cover I wouldn't say they and it depends on how you're defining the benefit of the doubt there we saw multiple multiple multiple national Knicks games on national tv when they were garbage
[00:08:05] because they've been garbage for a very long time I think the coverage remember Linsanity right like I think anytime like if the Knicks are even mediocre let alone decent the coverage gets way overblown for them
[00:08:28] in my opinion so do they have the benefit of the doubt as a championship team or a team that can compete for a championship I think that's a different conversation like real basketball people will have that conversation and real basketball people will tell you no they don't have a shot at winning championship but the the amount of coverage that they get when they're good when they're bad when
[00:08:53] they're mediocre when they're like those teams I remember I remember seeing uh Charles Barkley a few years joking about it when like it was like the Knicks and the Lakers was one of the TNT games and they both were bad they both were awful and they still were getting national games so to me that's part of the bias also where there's so much oxygen
[00:09:18] given given to teams that suck depending on what market they're in now this year the Lakers are good and the Knicks are good so you can understand them talking about them but they talk about them all the time and that was really the the the gist of of Chuck's criticism and that that part I completely agree with 100 a thousand percent I think the sports media the national sports media is incredibly biased and
[00:09:47] they don't give a damn about anybody that's not on the east coast or the west coast that's my thought I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to get into that a little bit more uh later on because as we're well we got a month till the playoffs Dante yeah April 19th the NBA playoffs start yep so we'll uh this I'm sure this conversation will be coming up again
[00:10:11] miss O'Malley how are you uh I am great actually um I've just been busy working on that project that I once upon a time talked about actually a couple times um I'm almost to the finish line it's like it's so far it's so close but yet so far like you know it's uh I you know that ADHD kicks in and I'm like
[00:10:33] a project starter so it's I've been I've really been pushing myself on that I'm doing really good with that to complete it yeah yeah I'm doing good with it though I'm doing good but um and then you know not long ago guys I I'm you know um I just recently stepped back into the modeling world
[00:10:57] um and for CLE fashion week uh a promo shoot I did for them and I like I can just say right now an 80s photo shoot was definitely on my bingo card for this year and I'm telling you the good lord heard me he was like here you go girl got you like here you go so it was pretty it was pretty fun but yeah I'm good I'm looking forward to I saw some of the pictures I love them but
[00:11:23] I'm looking forward to the when they roll the whole campaign out that's gonna be dope I'm like I know her I'm so excited for it like it's it's awesome it's a great team I mean so many uh amazing models um just it was it's awesome definitely awesome right right absolutely that's what's up that's what's up all right stay tuned speaking of miss O'Malley when we come back we're gonna go to tea time with Ro
[00:11:52] here on the outlaws this is the outlaws radio show welcome back welcome back you're listening to the outlaws and now is the time of the show that we like to call tea time with Ro turn it up the latest celebrity news and gossip it's tea time with Ro on the outlaws radio show
[00:12:21] all right y'all so listen I sent something to the group chat the other day and um y'all ain't heard this man's name in a long time R Kelly oh my god it has been a long time um so anyway Chris Brown who is an R&B singer um he has a a song so he has like this residual
[00:12:46] um what is it like a tick tock trend it's his song his album I should say him and but it's a tick tock trend of people coming up with their own lyrics for that song um um R Kelly he did it through a phone call a collect a collect call from prison and he came for his team or his label he came for his label because he was basically did you guys hear the song did you guys hear
[00:13:16] it I've heard about it but I haven't heard it have you heard it to you see they don't listen to me listen he was going I haven't heard it either I sent it in a group chat I feel like you guys are neglecting me anyway we have like seven group chats which one on the text message I sent it y'all don't listen to me that is right though we got multiple there's three
[00:13:45] facebook text message and instagram I sent it in text message um I'm gonna listen to it I promise I did see it though so I know I know it exists but only if you had listened to it only if um but anyway so he came after his label basically saying who's got all of my residuals who has all of my
[00:14:11] money you guys are still making money off my music off my name and you ain't even putting nothing on my commissary what's up with that like in so many words and I was actually when I seen it in the comments that he won the the whole um trend or whatever and I'm like wait R Kelly put something out so here I am going strolling over to youtube so you know I go find it and I was dying okay because
[00:14:41] he actually went in it did don't sound bad I'm not gonna lie ah I'm not I know it's one of those where you you you can't listen to him in public but like I had to listen to it it wasn't a bad you know you know what's funny though and this is off topic but on topic what's funny though is like there's been places like if I go to the hood
[00:15:07] they still playing our county yes like they still playing our they they don't care about none of this stuff they said you gotta separate the music from the man that's right that's right you separate the music from the man they still love the music it was and it was almost like shocking sometimes because like you haven't heard R Kelly in so long but like when I go to the hood man they still playing R Kelly they like look I like the song I don't agree with everything he did but I like the song
[00:15:36] like not everybody looking at everybody sideways out the corner of their eye like am I am I allowed like we're cool okay yeah this is the hood we talking about they just do it y'all better listen to it after this yes I promise you I promise you Robert I'm gonna listen matter of fact listen I'm a I'm gonna go ahead and react to it right now I reacted y'all see that
[00:15:59] yeah I've reacted to it y'all see that okay yes yes I promise you I'll go back and listen to it now here's here's another question on this real quick um did y'all see that Tory Lanez did a whole album in jail I did see his yeah but you know what I told my niece I mean I like Tory Lanez I do I like his music I like Tory Lanez music too absolutely um but I was joking around the other day and I go
[00:16:28] I said shoot Tory need to hit up R Kelly and figure out how to make that album pop off because so Dante let me ask you this I would love your perspective on this so you got you got R Kelly doing songs from prison you got Tory Lanez doing a whole album from prison Suge Knight got a podcast from prison what's your thoughts on this? yes
[00:16:58] tax dollars hard at work hey listen my mama always told me if there's a wheel there's a way man it's incredible like and it's funny too like have y'all heard the Suge Knight interviews from jail where like he'll be talking and then like for five minutes and then it'll be like this call is real like he has to stop oh he has a little razzle dazzle he do a collect calls from prison and they just recorded as a podcast? yes bro wow I didn't know that yes yes
[00:17:27] he got a whole podcast and he doing interviews hey you know like I said like I said that's creative it is that's creative yeah it's creative I wonder if you know the the people that run the jails that get pissed off about it and shut it down no they probably be listening to the podcast probably so
[00:17:54] and at some point they gotta probably have some level of compliance right? like yeah how does R. Kelly get this out? how does Tory Lanez get his music out without some level of compliance? right because you know they doing it because every when you're in jail like everything yeah everything you do is monitored and I'm and Rob and R. Kelly and Tory they're in prison right they in prison exactly that they're you know who gives two oh yeah yeah yes yeah those guys are in prison so like that's
[00:18:23] but it does not matter they can get away with it um as long as it's not something where you're breaking the rules type thing like they don't they don't care if you're not saying something like they'll record everything but if you're as long as it's not something like say you make a phone call and then you add another call in they gonna end your call right there but like if they do something like that or they try to record it no they will end your call right there
[00:18:51] but if you're doing something like a podcast or just saying some words singing a song whatever like they don't care so I just want to make this I just want to make this clear because it sounds like we know a lot about this I just want to make this clear none of us have been to prison no but you know we just all know people that have you know is that correct yes
[00:19:20] none of us have been to prison I mean has there been a few times that you know I mean you know people triggered me where I probably you know but you know y'all be threatening me telling me yeah we stopped you from going to jail once you were ready to fight somebody in the airport we like Robin that's a bad idea don't do that not in the airport so so yes I just want to make that clear the three of us none of us have been to prison just all three of us
[00:19:48] just happen to know people that have so it is what it is hey it's a hard knock life next next so this is actually not about a celebrity so as we were saying before well what Dante was saying earlier how it today was the first nice day here in Cleveland Ohio yeah first of all
[00:20:18] I was at work for the majority of it I was high key jealous very high key jealous um but anyway let me tell you about our Cleveland folk okay it was nice it was 70 degrees out and they were definitely down at the beach in the water they were in the water and the water has got to be like 25 to 30 degrees like I thought that was just
[00:20:47] some Florida stuff but I guess we like them I don't know we I guess Dante would you be out there in the water right now no I don't swim in lake water I don't swim in the lake or the ocean really oh so you wouldn't swim in the ocean either no no no no I'm not getting in the ocean I'm not getting in the lake I uh I only swim in pools because my thing is I only get in bodies of water where I know nothing in the water is bigger than me right
[00:21:17] so I don't know what's in the I I know that there are animals in the in the ocean bigger than me so I'm definitely not getting in that and I don't know fully what's all in lake erie so I'm not not doing it right only swimming pools okay okay I can see that I can see that I understand I have not been inside a lake erie water in years me I mean I I
[00:21:47] I can't swim anyway but I I would like go in and like be at the edge you know what I'm saying get in a little bit and and do all that but like when I was younger but oh no I was deeper in the water like out yeah I didn't get in I didn't get deep in the water I got traumatized man because I went to I was trying to learn how to swim when I was a kid and I would go to like the Salvation Army and go to like some of the other like city pools or whatever and almost drowned three times
[00:22:17] at this point you need why you ain't have no floaties on because I'm black and from the hood and it was like y'all just gonna get out there I just learned how to swim last year see what I'm saying you know what I'm gonna buy you some of those floaties I'm 38 years old I ain't about to be out there with no floaties with my own ass I'm not doing
[00:22:45] I see a whole movie scene with this that says great that's great I got gray hair and everything I'm not getting my old ass out there on no floaties that ain't happening no you know what I want my goal in life when I've won when I like my goal as far as water is concerned I want to make enough money to have a boat that's where I'm at you still gotta have the dang the life jacket oh I have a life jacket
[00:23:15] but a life jacket is not a floatie it's basically the same thing it's helping you float no no no floatie is what you give the kids I'm not doing that you're still floating you're tripping you're tripping but I I can justify a life jacket versus a floatie like I'll be out there hey with the little thing that you put around your waist that had a little little pony or something on it like you know what
[00:23:44] absolutely not I will rock that pony floatie okay you too old for that I will I will matter of fact next time we gonna be somewhere in there I'm gonna wear it I'm gonna wear it I'm gonna wear it hey you know what we hey if you do that that is definitely going on our social media page I'm quite okay with this I am I am confident and comfortable okay
[00:24:15] that's how you think she'd actually do that yes oh yeah yes I would we gonna record that I promise you we gonna record but for the record to the listeners I can swim right I can swim right so you'd just be doing it just to do it before we close this segment here speaking because we haven't really talked on talked about this I'm personally excited about this I think it's great
[00:24:45] for the city speaking of Cleveland Cleveland is about to get a WNBA team again and Dan Gilbert put up what two was it 250 Dante I think so yeah 250 million dollars to bring a WNBA team back to Cleveland I'm I'm excited about it because I'm as a Cleveland fan and as a sports fan I think we should have all the things I want every every major league
[00:25:15] sports team like every every sports league that's out here that's major league I think we should have a team I want all the things and Cleveland's sports market like people are like well you know is there gonna be enough to support if they win people will show up like I saw a sold out arena it's called Rocket Arena now it's been like it's had like 47 different names but I saw a sold out Rocket Arena
[00:25:44] for an arena football game so like we'll show up so I'm I'm I'm all down with it and I'm a basketball fan anyway this but I'm one of those guys like I gotta my my city gotta have a team in order for me to watch it so I wasn't really watching the WNBA because I ain't had nobody to root for but with Cleveland getting the WNBA team like now I have a rooting interest in it Dante you gonna check out some of
[00:26:13] the WNBA when the team comes back maybe I'm I'm excited that the WNBA is expanding I think that's a good sign for the health of the league I don't I don't follow the WNBA that closely to know if the talent pool is big enough to know how they're planning to expand with like are they doing an expansion draft I don't know the particulars that way but it's cool that they're expanding
[00:26:43] I mean that means that the league has to be at least somewhat healthy for them to be able to expand and obviously you have you have multiple cities with multiple different bidders looking to put up real capital to be expansion teams right so that's also for the league right we know the NBA is probably going to expand as well to 32 teams with Vegas and Seattle
[00:27:13] being the likely destinations here probably within the next like three to four years we'll start more about that so like that's good and Cleveland being one of them I mean that's just another example of Dan Gilbert's investment into this city though like that's a huge huge huge thing and I'm happy I'm happy because like why not right it's something to do over the summer right absolutely that long go why not absolutely I love it I love the idea um does
[00:27:43] the NFL have 32 teams the NFL has 32 teams the NBA so the NBA so the NBA is trying to go to 32 also yeah it's it's not technically done because it hasn't been announced but it's it's all but a formality now where it most likely will be Vegas and Seattle and it'll right now we just don't know who the actual who's actually gonna get those bids but there's quite a few there's gonna be quite a few for both
[00:28:13] in those teams and they're gonna bring the Seattle Supersonics back yeah and then the other one is gonna be Vegas so it'll be some it'll be some like restructuring too because you know those are two obviously two Western conference uh would I was just thinking about that I was just wondering so it'll be some some realignment in terms of the conferences and then divisions right so like one of the things was like what do you do maybe Memphis moves I was just about to say that
[00:28:42] Memphis would probably be I don't know why Memphis is in the West anyway it'll be like well because remember Memphis used to be Vancouver yeah that's right that's right so they and then when they moved they didn't they they just relocated um another one that was that's put has the potential to be in the Eastern conference is Minnesota I can see that they also have the so that's why I say it's not theory in that because
[00:29:12] of the how lucrative this most recent television deal that they just signed that's about to kick in with 76 billion dollars they're going to get and with the health of the league despite what everybody says about you know ratings are down all this they've already got the money and you can just see what teams are selling for now like boston is about to get sold the boston celtics are about to get sold that team is going to get sold for at least 4 billion so nba franchises are more valuable today than they've ever been
[00:29:43] well and i think part of that too to your point going back to what we were just talking about that has also helped the wnba because there's more money the league is bigger and the wm and the nba owns and operates the wnba so now you have wnba teams like dan gilbert put up a quarter of a billion dollars for a wnba team that would have been unheard of 10 years ago right even five even five years ago
[00:30:12] the wnba wasn't in a position to expand and it is now and so i know a lot of people like to troll the wnba and say well the league isn't profitable and stuff like that people don't realize that the wnba or like professional basketball for women in america is relatively young right like the wnba is not even 30 years old i don't think it's either it's not 30 years old 1996 yeah so it's not even 30 well it'll be 30 next year next year it's not even 30 years old and i i i know you know
[00:30:42] people don't like history or the concept of it but like compare you know because people will try to troll wnba players when they say like hey we want to be paid our fair wages and things like that they're not asking to be paid 200 million dollars like nba players they're asking in terms of the collective bargaining right they want nba players collective bargaining they get 50 percent of the revenue right so wnba players this this is good for them right they'll they'll be
[00:31:12] paid more and um i think they deserve it right like they should be able to collectively bargain what they should get whatever they can collectively bargain and a larger pot means that they'll have larger things to bar you know something larger to bargain over right right um robin speaking of this whole thing first of all what are your thoughts on uh us getting a wmba team and what does that say about
[00:31:42] more opportunities for women in particular honestly i love it i love that they are bringing this to cleveland um i feel like cleveland is making a big come up like we're starting to climb the ladder you know what i mean we're starting to do better we're starting
[00:32:12] doing a lot better and having a woman's uh wmba team um i think that is something huge for the ladies uh because i i think we kind of been getting like you know the other end of the stick you know what i mean for the women and so i think that that is that's awesome that's awesome to give us that spotlight
[00:32:41] i think about the little girls in cleveland right where who may love basketball maybe playing basketball and middle school or junior high or high school or whatever and they have something that that'll be realistic and attainable to them you know what i'm saying like oh wow i can if i do this and i'm really good at it you know i can make this my profession so and you know what they're there are
[00:33:11] having children you know i can tell you like oftentimes people will automatically assume like for the boy the boy oh he's tall he's gonna play basketball is he gonna play basketball and the thing is is chances are i'm gonna be honest with you my boy he is not a basketball person he'd prefer football you know i mean but my daughter more than likely if you gave her that opportunity she would love that
[00:33:41] like and she's tall too but people more so than not look at boys rather than girls yeah and say oh you gonna play basketball you know what i mean so your daughter was one of the people i was thinking about in my head when i said that like literally you know you think about people like her to see like what's possible because that that's the biggest thing with like kids like they have to see what's possible and make it be realistic to them that oh this
[00:34:11] is something i could do so i love it man i love it i'm all for it um i will be i don't know if i'll be at the first game because i'm sure it'll probably be sold out uh maybe we'll cover it we'll see but um i know i'm gonna going to be at one of the cleveland rockers because they bring all right stay tuned we have dante's hot takes coming up next here on the outlaws
[00:34:46] welcome back to the outlaw radio welcome back you're listening to the outlaws make sure that you subscribe to the show on apple podcast spotify iheart or wherever you get your podcast and if you listen to this show on apple make sure you leave us a five star review and a comment is very important for the algorithm and for those of you that have already done so thank you oh so very much and now is the time of the show that we like to call dante's hot takes telling the truth whether you like it or not
[00:35:16] it's dante's hot takes on the outlaws radio show well we are a little over a month into a full month in little over a full month into trump to the second trump administration um and things are not off to a good start economically
[00:35:46] um we talked on this show a lot after the election and what we deduced as well as exit posed is um the real reason why trump won was because the previous administration um failed americans with the economy at least that's how they felt that's that's what americans told you at the ballot box in november was that
[00:36:16] we are unhappy with the state of the economy inflation is too high it's hurting us um inflation is just a tax on the citizen and we don't like it and in fact we trust president you know president trump to be able to fix that so more than a month in and you could say things have gone from bad to worse now i want to preface this with what
[00:36:48] we're currently in now in my opinion should not lead you to panic right i'm sure if you pay attention to any of the market places if you look at inflation right things look worse than they did six months ago um your stocks are probably down if that's probably not doing well for you like a lot of things are red right in the marketplace meaning down
[00:37:21] whatever market you're in that's probably about a six to ten percent down slope what i would say is that's a correction and usually a correction is healthy it's okay to reconsolidate certain things and then run later or get better later that's normal and if you had a you know we talked about this on show i believe that that was always inevitable a market correction was always inevitable there was only
[00:37:50] but and it's a good thing you don't want to run run run run run to get a little worse but that's okay that's not
[00:38:20] what they ran on recently in president trump and a lot of his economic team have been saying that you know this is right now this is a transitional period for the economy that's not what you ran on between that and some of the other foolishness is what i'll call it that republicans have engaged in whether it's just wokeism or
[00:38:50] you know the ukraine stuff which not to get off in the woods with that but people have mixed feelings about that but you seemingly lost the plot you were hired for this job to fix the economy and now the economy is getting worse don't keep making that mistake thinking that you
[00:39:20] either have the people always supporting you or that you have from the time you take office because what happens in two years we have midterms so if the economy doesn't correct or if you continue to
[00:39:52] say the word tariff which if you say the word tariff as a president the stock market is going to go down right that it's just it's very basic it's obviously more complex than to hear that makes people nervous so when you say tariff even if it's just a negotiating tactic even if it's just for leverage purposes the market is going to go down which means people are
[00:40:21] going to notice their 401k is getting worse their investments are going to get worse that's not what you were hired for so you can talk about waste fraud and abuse you can talk about the wins that doge is having you can talk about certain things but when people say hey I'm still paying eight dollars for eggs and you said that this was going to go down people aren't going to be patient about that that's what you were put in place for and if you don't fix that
[00:40:51] in a timely manner you're going to be the party with the incumbent team that is now trying to explain why the economy isn't and that's what just happened last November you had an incumbent team trying to explain why the economy wasn't working and trying to spin it but as we see and as we've seen throughout history when Americans are dissatisfied
[00:41:21] with the economy the incumbent party does poorly at the ballot box yeah I mean it's you hit it right on the head you hit the nail right on the head like first of all they're making the same mistakes that the Democrats did they are being too much online they're being terminally online caring too much about
[00:41:50] tailoring their message to a fringe element instead of the American people they're taking their eye off the ball they're making excuses instead of handling what they were elected to handle and to me when people ask me what do I think is going to happen in the midterms my assessment is very simple if
[00:42:29] the they don't get blown out they're to get curbstone whatever phrase you can think of
[00:42:58] they're to get beat really badly because like Dante said people elected them because they felt like the other guys weren't paying enough attention to the economy and if they hear you talking about fighting woke and DEI and wasting time on all of these other distractions and if the Democrats are smart that's exactly how they would frame their arguments
[00:43:28] is that the Republicans have been focused on all of these distractions if they were smart that's how that's I'm giving y'all free game Democrats if you listen if the Republicans don't fix the economy that's how you need to be campaigning but if they don't keep their eye on the ball and fix this economy now look there are things that they're doing that could work and there are
[00:44:02] stuff but I think some of that they went so far when you create uncertainty and this is going to some of what Dante was saying when you create uncertainty businesses absolutely hate uncertainty and as an econ guy Dante knows that like businesses hate uncertainty and so this is what he was saying when he was talking about the tariff conversation which to be honest I am not opposed to some tariffs but what I've been hearing some of the business people saying is just
[00:44:32] give us the plan like it can't be all right we're going to put this tariff on tomorrow and then we're going to increase it on Monday and then we're going to take it away on Thursday and then we're going to double it bring it back and double it the next Friday like you can't do that business people just want to know what are the rules and then they'll adjust because that's what businesses always do set the rules and we'll adjust and so in a situation
[00:45:02] where we have so much debt I know Doge is talking about we're going to cut waste fraud and abuse and all that stuff I'm going to just be honest with y'all it ain't enough waste fraud and abuse in the government as much as you think you need more businesses to come online and to create to generate
[00:45:32] wealth and generate you have to grow your way out of this and a lot of the things that they're doing some of that is encouraging that growth and some of that is discouraging that growth and to be honest one of the things that's doing it is them going overboard on DEI when it comes to going after contract minority contracts and supplier diversity and all that kind of stuff you're hurting minority businesses when you actually are in a position where you need more of
[00:46:02] them and you need them to get bigger you need them to make more money you need them to be more profitable because you need every business in America to be as profitable as possible because that waste fraud and abuse that's a good thing if you actually cutting waste fraud and abuse and not using that as an excuse to just get rid of stuff you don't like getting rid of
[00:46:32] waste fraud and abuse is a good thing it's a great thing making the government more efficient is and if you want to grow that means you need everybody at the table not just white men
[00:47:01] that means you need women that means you need black people that means you need Latinos that means you need everybody you need everybody to start businesses you need everybody to grow businesses to be wildly successful so that we're all paying more taxes to the government so that you can pay down the debt that's the only way this is going to work you can't cut your way out of it even though getting rid of
[00:47:31] waste fraud and abuse is not a
[00:48:23] need to make decisions that incentivize growth so it's one we've always had tariffs right tariffs is always tariff the word tariff is always seen as a negative in the marketplace but we've always had tariffs right what we haven't always had are these sort of blanket tariffs where the administration sort of seems either indecisive or incompetent
[00:48:53] those are two words that no market likes so when you look at that 1230 and you see president trump on truth social and he says something about you know tariffs and trade wars and you read words like that and you look over at the marketplace and you see oh wow every single sector is down yeah because everybody is afraid because just yesterday you said you were pulling them off and now we're going even harder right and these are not like adversarial
[00:49:23] countries these are Canada and Mexico right so you you are creating fear in the marketplace and then you are also creating uncertainty around well shoot if I hire this black woman do I am I gonna lose my government contract are they gonna see her as D I like you don't want to be doing that you want to set markets free um one of the things that you know you would have thought with a business friendly
[00:49:52] administration would be that like regulation coming off right we we want to deregulate right not punish growth and opportunity so that's just one thing that they need to keep in mind because again you probably again you got 18 months from the time you took office otherwise you're you're cooked for the midterms and then you know if you can't go then you're just a lame
[00:50:22] duck at that point um for the remaining two years of your presidency so um because all that's gonna go away right we know what happened we saw what happened the first time right if if the democrats control the senate or the house right you're gonna get the investigations you're you know you may get more impeachment proceed like it's over you are not gonna govern so if you want to get anything done the first thing that you should
[00:50:52] do is you should focus all your attention on fixing the economy in a manner that looks competent and a manner that is sure of itself because uncertainty will turn will always turn markets red um you can follow me on instagram and twitter at t-a-e-b-r-y-e miss o'malley you can follow me on instagram at real robin o'malley and you can

[00:51:52] i'm just gonna eat me some some you know some corn beef you know you know what's crazy did y'all see my post like my last name is irish and i'm fascinated to find out how the hell i got this irish last name because if you know anything about history um black people typically got their last name from the slave owner but for the most
[00:52:22] part the irish didn't own slaves because they were poor and broke right and many of them were working on plantations too so i am fascinated i did this post uh yesterday i just was like chad gpt in my last name right and i'm like yo this is crazy so i'm gonna read it real quick says the surname marl has strong irish and scottish origins it is derived from
[00:52:52] the gaelic o mercada i think that's how you say it meaning descendant of mercada which itself comes from mercada meaning sea warrior mer equals sea cath equals battle the name is common in both ulster which is northern ireland and scotland particularly among the scots irish who immigrated to america in large numbers many scots irish settled in the appalachian regions of the u.s. as well as in cities where irish
[00:53:22] immigrants worked in labor intensive jobs if your last name is morrow your ancestors may have come from this background and at some point the name was passed into your family adoption or community connections rather than direct enslavement ain't that crazy that's crazy yeah that is crazy so i'm gonna do one of these me and my mother been talking about it forever but we gonna do one of these uh those 23 and
[00:53:51] me's man or no don't do 23 and me which one you do ancestry that one i don't do that one do the ancestry one don't put don't put them on blast on the radio we're not we're not trying to get sued but yeah i like the ancestry one we'll just go with that i'm gonna do it too because i'm sick and tired of people being like yo you related to so-and-so i don't know it might be my cousin i was just about to ask if either
[00:54:21] one of y'all did it have you done it don't say have you done no my sister has and my niece i think my niece may have but i know my sister has she's done both of them the 23 and me and the ancestry okay yeah i'm i'm looking at ancestry because i'm i'm very fast like i know more about my mother's side of the family like i know more about that side history than my dad's i can like i can trace all the way back to slavery on my mother's side you do
[00:54:51] have to pay the extra so you for to get all of the all of the details like who you're related to all like within death you have to pay the higher price all right i may do that i really i really might because i'm fascinated to find out how this afro-american man ended up with this irish last name we could mess around and find out you got a billionaire cousin somewhere hey robin we could be related
