This is a really cool interview for me. I'm very excited. Some of you may know if you follow me on social media, you know, but some of you may not know that I am a wrestling fan. I have been a wrestling fan for most of my life since I was a child. And today we are going to be talking to two wrestlers, one that I know personally from radio because she's I met her originally in the radio business and she still has a radio show as well. And We're also going to be talking to a world champion. So I'm very excited about this we're going to be talking to Chelsea Lyons, who wrestles as Celeste, and we're going to be talking to the NWA Heavyweight Champion of the World EC three. I'm really excited about that looking forward to that. These are both people who are from the Cleveland area, which many of you listen to this show know that this is where this show is based. And they have a pay per view coming up October twenty eighth here that's going to be here in the city of Cleveland as well. So we touched on a lot of things. We touched on, you know, their experiences. We touched on you know, fighting against people who are telling you not to do it and all that kind of stuff, and it was it was a really good conversation. It was a really good conversation. I was glad to have it. And I'm very happy to see the success of my friend Chelsea aka Celeste. She's doing a great job, a phenomenal job, and I couldn't be more proud of her. So I'm excited. I'm excited to see that. All right, So we are going to go to that interview right now. All right, we have two very special guests on the show today. This is a big treat for me, first because I personally know one of the two guests on the show, but also because I am a big wrestling fan. I've been a wrestling fan my entire life. My family of wrestling fans, I have a in the Hall of Fame. This is a big deal for me, so I'm excited to do this interview. First of all, we have Chelsea Lyons aka Celeste from the NWA, and we also have the NWA Heavyweight Champion of the World EC three. Welcome to you both. How are you both doing? Ladies? First? Oh? Why? Hello? I am I am fabulous today. How are you? I'm good, I'm good, mister e C three? How you doing, sir? I also well, I'm having a title defense tonight here in New York. But then Chelsea ak Celeste let me know about this interview and the fact that we're Cleveland local. We got the big show ten twenty eight n W a Salwyn in Cleveland. I cannot bypass the opportunity to come to chop it up, especially because you were so kind of support our Exodus show, and you are a wrestling fan, and who's in the Hall of Fame. Your cousin my cousin is Coco Beware dude. Yeah. So I'm like, we my whole family has been wrestling. I used to watch wrestling with my grandparents, my parents, my mom still watches it like we're we've been big fans. Like I was telling you before the show, it was. It was funny because when Chelsea first talked about the interview, actually when she first invited me to the to the Exodus show and she mentioned that you were going to be on, she was like, well, I don't know if you're a wrestling fan, but if you would like to come check out? Like am I a restling fan? And then she mentioned that you were going to be on, I'm like, I know who EC three is. I'm like, I was a tn I used to watch them on TNA. I watch him with WWE, Like I know exactly who he is, right, So this is this, This is dope for me. But I didn't know. What I didn't know EC three is that you're from Cleveland. I didn't know that until I went to the Exodus show. I was I was surprised to hear that. Originally and now currently do again reside in Willoughby, Ohio. So I am from Cleveland. Cleveland's long line of illustrious professional wrestlers that are past and present, and I am one of them. But because of EC three's success, and you know, Dixie's nephew hailing from Boca Ratone, I think that Cleveland connection kind of never really happened to the reality of the situation. That Yeah, I mean, I am Dixie Carter's nephew for sure, mid living in Florida, you know, for sure, but I'm also from Cleveland. Oh that's right, Well, awesome, awesome. I'm glad to glad that you both came on. So, Chelsea slash Celeste, I want to talk to you real quick because this is a this is a big moment for you. As EC three mentioned, the NA, the NWA is going to getting ready to have a pay per view here in Cleveland, and you're going to be on it. I am. This is going to be the first pay per view that I'm going to be a part of, my first pay per view appearance, So talk about that. How does that feel? Well? I had my first wrestling nightmare last night, so if the nerves are getting to me, I had this dream where I showed up to the pay per view and I ordered new gear, but I get to the pay per view and I only had the top and nothing else. And this is literally the nightmare that I had that I'm I'm I'm backstage getting ready and they're calling me and they're like, hey, your match is up next, and I and in my nightmare, I'm not ready. I only have my top and fish nuts and I was like, oh my god, I'm up next, and I legit woke up from that draw it okay. So if you're asking how I'm feeling about it, are you really a wrestler if you don't have a nightmare about it time and time again? That is so I'm happy you had that because that's a totally real thing that we all go through. Usually for myself, it's that my boots, my my laces rip or they can't tie in time entrance, so very similar. See, it's a real thing. It's not just me right right, So I mean that is that is awesome. I was so glad that I was able to hear that announcement in person and and celebrate you in that moment. Just what do you what are you feeling other than the other than having, you know, nightmares that you lost your draws like, what are you feeling? Like? This is this is awesome, this is a big deal. Minimum It was very it was very surreal. It was definitely one of those moments, and especially because my mom was there, and this was like the first show that my It's been hard trying to get some of my family on board with this new career choice, and this was like the first real show that my mom has attended outside of my graduation and the fact that you know, now here we are a year and a half after my graduation match from training where you know she's here and I'm literally like Billy Corgan is holding my hand in the air and pointing at me, and then I can hear my mom screaming behind me at the top of her lungs. It was just one of those full circle moments where it if I didn't have a video of it, I wouldn't think that it even happened. Weird talking with Chelsea Lyons aka Celeste and EC three, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. EC three, so you know you are, like I said, the the NWA Heavyweight Champion of the World. That is an illustrious brand with a long history in the wrestling business. Talk about what it means to be the NWA Champion, to be in the same lineage as the Harley Races and the Rick Flairs and so on and so forth. Yeah, it's kind of wild to think, I mean, a nostalgia of what the company is meant him with the company did in the past for seventy five years or so, especially during those Heydays and territorial days and things like that. To be in that pantheon of those names, it's pretty you know, surreal, but also at the same time like this is our new era and the companies evolved, the industries involved. You know what William Patrick Corgan's doing when he took the letters and made that what it's going to be. Like, we'ren the precipice of, you know, creating a new future, a new lineage, a new nostalgia, and to in theory, be leading that charge as the first champion of it. Yeah, it's daunting, but it's also rewarding because it's where I want to be. And on that note, talk a little bit about what is the direction for the NWA, What what are your uh the plans for the for the brand moving forward. It's constant growth and evolution. I think it's taking back an in, you know, part of this industry that's been lost to maybe a collective high mind of groupthink and you know, niche audiences where there's a vast majority of people like yourself, your mother out there who probably love wrestling. But at the same time, you know, see complacency within it and everybody's kind of carbon copy. It's all about moves. It's not about characters, dramas and stories, emotions, you know, real things about entertainment and art. So I think that's the direction. Signing a couple of television deals and announcing that's a pretty big deal. So being in the we're in the right place at the right time with the NW A a lot of work. It went into these moments. I would say, our boss w PC set himself up for success and he wouldn't take bad deals just to be on television. He played his hand right. He waited till the time is right, and now we're ready to strike. Awesome. Awesome, So are those are any of the new TV deals? Are they public yet or are you still waiting to announce those both with the CW network. So awesome. Yeah, having known like it's a Top twenty network. So yeah, pretty you know, their streaming services is getting very sports oriented, so being a part of that, it's pretty big deal. As far as time frame and things like that. I should know these things. I've known about the deal. I've kept it quiet. I don't know the schematics of it. The rumor. The rumor is the first of the year, but it's just a rumor. Nothing's confirmed or denied. Well, that's awesome. I'm looking forward to that. That's I mean more wrestling. Like, who can say no to more wrestling? I'm very too much right, Yeah, well you actually have to do it. But as a as a viewer, like, of course I want to see more wrestling. I want to have more wrestling options. Who what wrestling fan doesn't want to see more wrestling? Well, and the thing that I love about the NWA, that I think sets us aside from other wrestling companies is that our owners is huge into the old school and he makes sure that we really focus on the basics, the fundamentals, and you know, the actual roots of wrestling. So you'll see that in a lot of our styles. A lot of our wrestlers even look like the wrestlers. Did you know in the eighties, and it's some of I'm not going to name names, but other companies you know, aren't always following storylines and they're just going out there and flipping and trying to do the most insane things for no reason. But like what we're doing, the product it has meaning their great storylines that you can follow, and it's easy to follow too. And on top of that, you're gonna get that classic old school wrestling mixed with like a newer kind of twang. And I think it really is is kind of like a secret sauce. You know. I'm excited for these TV deals to take off because to see where once everyone else starts seeing what we're doing, I know it's gonna it's gonna just take off. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, I'm excited. I'm looking forward to it. So, Chelsea, you have a little bit of history here in this market as well. You were known for doing what we do before you started wrestling. Do you think that the fact that you had already kind of built a name in radio, do you think that helped build your brand when you decided to cross over into wrestling, especially here in the in the local market, Like there was a lot of people at the Exodus Pro show that we're there to see you. So do you think that that that helped with that transition? One hundred percent. I'm not even gonna lie. It is definitely an advantage that I have, and probably one of the few reasons that you know, I still keep a radio show in and keep in the business is because there is that fan base there that they reach out. They message me. During COVID and everything, we stopped doing radio meet and greets, so a lot of the fans and stuff haven't had a chance to really meet me, but they've been listening to me grow on the radio for the last four years. So now, oh, she's a wrestler too. Oh she has a show here in Cleveland and they come to see And yeah, it was cool because I did get a chance to meet fans at that show, and a couple of them have already messaged me that, you know, they have bought tickets to the NWA pay per view because they want to come out and they, you know, would say, do we get a chance to meet you? So of course I'm going to make myself available here in Cleveland for anyone who does want to come and meet me. From whether it's from the radio side the wrestling side both. You know, I'm a friendly person. I like to talk and be out there with everyone. Yeah. Absolutely, And it obviously always helps to be able to have different methods of promotion and have those different those different tools to reach out to people, because people who like you in one field, they're going to cross over and try to check you out on the other field as well. Because, like I said, I was I was at that show and there was a lot of Celeste fans in the audience. Like, speaking of that show EC three, one of the announcements that was made that night was that the Excess Pro, which is a local wrestling promotion, is now NWA Exodus Pro. Like, so, what does that? What does that mean? What does that entail? Like, what is that going to look like? I mean, it's hard to say. Off the bed territories were a big part of what wrestling history was, and I don't think you can necessarily recreate that due to the advent of cable television and internet and communication and streaming and things like that, because in the day, territories were live shows that you know, we're in local markets within you know, three to four state radius. Led by a champion led by an owner, and there was multiple of these with one overseen champion who would be the NBA World sevuweight Champion, which that's me. But in today's climate, I think what NBA is looking to do is to affiliate and brand with, you know, promoters, promotions, talent they can trust to kind of create a pipeline for the future of the industry, perhaps like a Chelsea here, and create like territorial content is king. You're in the business, you understand that that happen. You know a couple territories, regional areas where people are developing talent or developing world, seeing them develop in front of their eyes, they eventually get that call up to the big show. So I think it's more it's developing the future at the same time providing people now the opportunity to make this a living right. The conclusion of our interview with Chelsea Lyons and EC three, when we come back here on the Outlaws. These days, it seems like everybody's talking, but no one is actually listening to the things they're saying. Critical thinking isn't dead, but it's definitely low on oxygen. Thank you oh so very much. And now let's get to the conclusion of our interview with EC three and Chelsea Lions. Let me ask you this, So, like I mentioned earlier, you know, I'm familiar with your work. I saw you at TNA, I saw you in Well Impact Wrestling, I saw you at WWE, and now you're at the NWA, and you're at this organization that's kind of like getting ready to grow and build and expand and things like that. What is the experience like for you now being a part of this organization that's on the cusp of you know, getting to going to the next level and you being a centerpiece part of that. Is what is that experience like for you? It's what I want to be doing, It's where I want to be, Like I think that's where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing. I've had experience being on top of the car with an Impact and being a world champion and things like that, especially when I was champion with Impact, it was at a sort of a tumultialous time where there's constant rumors and INDI window and TV deals being negotiated or thwarted, and people trying to buy ownership of the company, and there's game of thrones between multiple parties trying to own it, where all I'm doing is sitting on the top, and as a champion, you kind of have to lead people through that. And so focusing on what we were doing, focusing on what we had at hand, which is doing the best we absolutely can because none of the other stuff we can control, was kind of the motive I had then. But having grown I've aged. I went through some hell with you know, the ww run was you know, not good, the COVID, the pandemic, losing jobs, you know, wrestling in front of no people, rebuilding yourself, trying to create something new, which I did and eventually it became exodus. So I went at the same time being on the I guess the front line now for an upward charge and having momentum, which is key. It's exciting because it could be one more great thing I can do within my lifetime, giving back to this business and solidifying myself and some sort of legacy. Yeah, you know, it's there's a different energy around the NWA right, Like it's it's almost like like if you wanted to compare it to like a like the energy that you have like a like a startup company and like Silicon Valley at the very beginning and and all of that creative energy and stuff like that. And with a lot of these companies sometimes when they they get to a certain level and they don't have that energy anymore. You can only be a startup one time. So to have that kind of creative energy and everybody is like fighting and you have you're going to the next level and you see it like it. It's to me, it's exciting to kind of see something grow and take off like that. Chelsea, What's what's been your experience being part of the nw A as as this brand, you know, grows and kind of has that startup energy even though it's been around for seventy five years, having that that that startup energy and all of that creativity and stuff like that, it is it's like that revival energy. It is a good way to put it, because it is it's like a comeback, you know, in being part of it seeing it. I was there when some of the partnerships were made last year with some of the other promotions that we work with. So I was training in Tennessee with doctor Tom at JPWA. The NWA came through Knoxville and they selected our group of people to come in and help. So this is how I got on with the NWA. It was our very first my very first time working with a bigger company outside of smaller indie shows. So you know, we went in there and when I do something, I do it. I don't you know. I go in with a meaning, a purpose. I want to come back and I want you to recognize me, So that's exactly what happened. I went in and we busted butt. And then the people who were helping book the extras for NWA were also helping book extras for Impact Slammiversary event that next weekend. So I was one of the people who stood out and was asked to go work it Impact the next weekend, which was a completely different sized production from NWA and both are amazing in like different ways. And then from there they kept asking me to come back to NWA again and again and again. So then like the next show I worked was the seventy fourth anniversary show and it just grew from there. But seeing NWA even in the last year, you know at that Knoxville show, that was when Doctor Tom became part of the crew. That was when they brought Doctor Tom on, and it was knowing that it was our group that made that big impression, you know, where they they locked in Joe Cauzanna that weekend as well, and now you know they use the cazandas pretty big in the NWA. So being part of that group that helped lock that in already is a great feeling. And then watching it grow and expand and knowing where we're at, the views that we have to go, where we're going, and being part of that. It's almost like this is a baby or a child and we are feeding it, training it, helping it grow into something bigger that we know it will be one day. And it's exciting because all of us are on the same page. All of us want to see this grow and want to see it go. Absolutely and you're absolutely right. I mean, as someone who's started and grown a business, that's exactly what it's like. It's like your child and you're nurturing and growing that child, and it's really cool to kind of see this happening, you know, in real time. So EC three, you have a pay per view coming up here in Cleveland. Do you ever see Tommy Boy? Yes, we're like Chris Farley's like talking about doing the sale. He's got the bread and and then I jumped apart and that's right, that's just what I thought of when we were talking about that. But she's right, go ahead. I hate to interrupt the question. You know, you're good. You're good. It was just plug the pay per view. The pay per view is coming up here, he was, I we got ten twenty eight, NWA sal Win. That is gonna be at the Masonic Temple on Euclid Avenue. Tickets start as low as fifteen dollars. We're selling them. You should buy them. You should check it out. Support excuse me, support wrestling, support the NWA, Support local wrestlers like Celeste and hell even me as a champion, because if I deliver a great crowd that keeps me champion even longer. We'll be starting at seven o'clock. Understanding that, yes, this is, you know, Saturday night before Halloween. You will have plenty of time after I win the main event against Tom Latimer to get out and go, you know, crush some bruskis or whatever people do at Halloween parties where goofy outfits. Help wear your goofy outfit to the show. It'll be a great for you. But U t WA Salwin stat card looking very much forward to it, all right, And you mentioned as we were to wind down here, I definitely wanted to to ask you THISWA ticks dot com. I have to do that, NWA dot com. Go ahead, NWA ticks dot com. Make sure y'all go to that for people who are unfamiliar, people who just watch it and not, you know, not really understanding the business. Talk a little bit about what it means for a brand to be their world heavyweight champion. What what does that mean for you as the wrestler. What does that mean for the brand, for the brand to invest into you by being the world heavyweight champion. Talk a little bit about what that means. Respect of your peers is probably one of the most important things you can have in that So to be a champion, like it means that. It means trust and faith in the people that oversee the business and the creative of it. Like that means a lot. It's the legitimacy in the eyes of the fans. It's you know, it's one of the great honors you can have within wrestling, is to be a champion for the company and what you do with it then therefore, depends on your actions and how you proceed with your business and help the company grow, help the people around you grow, help everything get better, or you find yourself quickly in defeat and then it's a long climb back to the top. Right right, absolutely, Chelsea. I don't know if you remember some of the early conversations we had when you first were like, hey, you know what, I think. I want to do this. And you know there were folks that thought you were crazy. If you could see the smile on my face right now. And I remember our early conversations and I told you, I was like, well, hell, you want to do it, do it right, you go for it. So for people who are listening who may have that kind of bug themselves, what advice would you give them? Go for it? Because you're right there. It was. I went from being this preppy, bubbly little cheerleader to I want to wrestle, and everyone was like, excuse me what? And that was the reaction that I got from so many people. I literally had one person laugh in my face, like no, you're never going to do that. You're not going to be a wrestler. And I've been told time and time again that it would not work out for me. This was not my thing. I would not be a wrestler, And it just made me more determined to prove them wrong because I know me and I know my determination and my spirit. So if it's something that you're serious about that you really want to do, go for it. And if there's anything anything at all that I've learned this week is that one day those people are not going to be here and it's not going to matter. So why would you live your life based off of the fear of what other people say? Just go for it, because if you don't go for it, you're never gonna know you missed one hundred percent of the shot. You don't take right right exactly, you just gotta try. If you don't try, then you're never gonna know. That's the way I see it. I don't want to look back and say what if I want to say I did right? Same question to you, ec three, What advice are you for people who may want to do the same thing. I mean, I think Chelsea said it pretty well. It's hard to add on that, and it's a lot of what I say and thinking maybe some of my words rubbed off on her a little bit, But I would say, if you're going yeah now, But like, she has her own mindset, and she has her own drive, and she has her own reasons and purpose and I'm proud of her for pursuing this. But if you're going to do something, go all the way because if not, why even start right? Absolutely, Chelsea, let him know how to follow you on social media. How to keep up with what you got going on, all that good stuff, you can follow me. I keep everything the same to make it super easy to find me. Chelsea, Lions, l y Ons, clease ce l E and that's every single handle. And I could tell you I know we're wrapping up here, but if you follow that, you'll get a quick recap of what happened at the Exodus Pro show if you missed it. So when the pay per view comes around and you see me in two and that ring with some heat with each other, you'll understand why that's gonna be good. That's gonna be a good match.
